Is there a Broidry app? Broidry on your phone

The Broidry app for iPhone and iPad is in testing. To try it, install it with TestFlight. TestFlight is Apple's free app for trying apps before they're in the App Store.

On an Android phone, or on an iPhone without the app, Broidry works in the browser already on your phone: Safari on an iPhone, Chrome on an Android phone. Go to broidry.com, press Sign in, and you are on the same dashboard you use on a computer, laid out for a small screen.

On a phone the dashboard becomes four tabs across the bottom, Today, Orders, Inbox, and Production, with a + button in the middle for starting an order from a pasted message or a screenshot. Press Menu, the last button on that bar, to see every page in one list: those four, plus Supplies, Mockups, Pricing, Billing, Help & feedback, and the rest.

Get the iPhone app

The app has your whole Broidry dashboard. To start an order from a picture, share a customer's photo or a screenshot of their message to Broidry. A new order opens with the picture already in it. Your phone shows an alert when something new happens in your shop.

   Open Broidry from your home screen and sign in with the same email and passphrase you use for Broidry now. New to Broidry? Press Create an account on the sign-in screen.

Put it on your home screen

Adding Broidry to your home screen gives it an icon next to your other apps, opens it full screen without the browser bar, and keeps you signed in.

   On an iPhone: open broidry.com in Safari, press the Share button, choose "Add to Home Screen", and press Add.

   On an Android phone: open broidry.com in Chrome, press the three dots in the corner, and choose "Add to Home screen". Some phones call it "Install app".

Testing the iPhone app? Shake to report a problem

If you are one of the people testing the Broidry iPhone app, shake your phone on any screen where something looks wrong. Broidry asks "Report a problem with this screen?", takes a picture of that screen, and opens Report a problem with that picture at the top. Type what happened and press Send it. Nothing is sent until you press Send it. You can shake your phone on the sign-in screen too. If you aren't signed in yet, the form asks for your email so we can write back.

Testers can also send a customer's screenshot straight into a new order. In Photos, press Share and pick Broidry. In Messages, press a picture so it opens full screen, then press Share and pick Broidry. Messenger does not offer Share on a picture, so take a screenshot of the conversation, press the small preview that appears in the corner, press the Share button, and pick Broidry. Broidry opens the new order form with a green note that says Got your screenshot! To add more screenshots, press the box under the note. You can add up to 8. When you're done, press Turn this into an order.

Notifications on your phone

Broidry can tell your phone when a new order comes in, when a customer sends a message, when a payment arrives, and when a customer approves a proof, and your morning brief arrives the same way. Open the bell at the top of your dashboard and press "🔔 Notify me on this device (even with the tab closed)".

On an iPhone, Apple only allows notifications once Broidry is on your home screen. Add it first, open it from that new icon, then turn notifications on from the bell.

At the machine

Machine mode is a view made for a phone propped next to the machine: the next piece up, big Start and Done buttons, and a screen that stays awake. Open it from the Production page.

The square code at the bottom of a printed work sheet opens that one order when you point your phone's camera at it. No app is needed for that either; the camera already on the phone reads it.
