Make a reel from your clips

3 minute read

Reels from your clips is on the Posts page, under this week's three posts. It comes with the Atelier plan. On other plans, press the button on the card to start Atelier.

Film an order on the machine with your phone: the design on the screen, the needle going, the hoop coming off and the finished piece. Three to six clips of 10 to 30 seconds each is plenty. Hold your phone upright.

Make a reel

  1. 1
Under "Which order is in the clips?", pick the order, so the opening line can name the piece and who it is for. Leave it on "No order, just the shop at work" for a reel of the shop in general.
  2. 2
Press "Choose files" next to "Your clips" and pick the clips from your phone, or drag them onto the card. Up to 10 clips, each under 300 MB and under 10 minutes. Each clip shows a line with "Sending" and a percentage, then "In" with how long it runs. Press "Take it out" on a clip you don't want.
  3. 3
Press "Make my reel". The card shows what Broidry is doing: looking through your clips, picking the moments, then cutting the reel. It takes a few minutes. You can leave the page and come back. Broidry keeps working on your reel.

What Broidry makes

Broidry looks at every second of every clip and picks the moments where something is happening: the needle going, the hoop coming off, the finished piece. It leaves out the seconds where a hand covers the lens or nothing moves. The reel is 20 to 45 seconds long. It's tall to fit Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and TikTok. It keeps the sound of your machine.

Over the first seconds is the opening line, like "Stitching Emma's Christmas stocking". Your shop's name sits near the bottom the whole way through. The last three seconds are an ending card in your brand color with your logo, your shop's name and your shop's address.

If Broidry can't make a reel from the clips, the card says so. Try again with different clips. Broidry needs clips that show the machine working. A clip where nothing moves, or where the machine never shows, won't work.

Change the opening line

Under the reel, change the words in "Opening line" and press "Change the words". Up to eight words. Broidry draws the reel again with the new line in about a minute. The moments and the sound stay the same.

Download and post

Press "Download this reel". The file saves to your phone or computer as an MP4. Post it from your phone to Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and TikTok like any other video. To get the caption, press Facebook, Instagram or TikTok under the reel, change anything you like, then press "Copy the words". The Facebook caption ends with a link to your shop. People who visit your shop from the reel show up on your Visits page.

The reel shows only your own name and logo. There is no Broidry watermark. Instagram shows fewer people a video with another app's watermark on it. Your own logo is fine.

Your reels and your clips

Your newest 20 reels stay on the Posts page. When you make a new one after that, the oldest one is deleted. Press "Delete this reel" to remove one yourself.

The clips you added are deleted once the reel is ready. Clips added to a reel that was never made are deleted after a day.
